CBI Initiates Probe into Alleged Question Paper Leak in AIIMS Nursing Officer Recruitment Exam

0

The AIIMS-Delhi (All India Institute of Medical Sciences) has recently filed a complaint with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) regarding an alleged leak of a question paper and the use of unfair means during the Nursing Officers Recruitment Common Eligibility Test (NORCET). As a result, the CBI has initiated an investigation and filed a First Information Report (FIR) in response to the complaint.

The complaint lodged by AIIMS mentions a nursing candidate and a private institute where the exam took place on June 3. The NORCET-4 exam was conducted by the examination section of AIIMS for the recruitment of nursing officers in four central government hospitals affiliated with AIIMS.

On June 5, AIIMS became aware of tweets suggesting the possible leakage of question papers. Acting promptly, AIIMS reported the matter to the Union Ministry of Health, which subsequently led to the complaint being filed with the CBI. Dr. Naval K Vikram, the associate dean (Exams), submitted a written complaint on June 6, bringing the alleged leak to the attention of the authorities.

Following the complaint, the CBI has taken significant steps in the investigation. Reports released on Tuesday reveal that the agency has arrested a person named Ritu and the Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology located in Mohali, Punjab, in connection with the suspected leak. The CBI has registered a case against both entities related to the alleged leak of the question papers.

The NORCET-4 exam aimed to select nursing officers for all AIIMS institutions, as well as four other hospitals in Delhi. Screenshots of the question papers started circulating on social media platforms on the same day as the examination. The emergence of these screenshots created speculation about the possibility of a paper leak.

Upon analyzing the screenshots, it was discovered that they contained the examination console of a candidate named Ritu, who had been assigned the examination center at the Gian Jyoti Institute of Management and Technology.

The CBI’s investigation will delve deeper into the matter to determine the extent of the alleged leak, identify any individuals involved, and ascertain the impact on the integrity of the NORCET-4 exam. This incident has raised concerns about the fairness and transparency of the recruitment process for nursing officers, and the CBI’s thorough investigation aims to address these issues.

Both AIIMS and the CBI are committed to upholding the principles of meritocracy and ensuring that recruitment processes are conducted in a transparent and unbiased manner. The findings of the investigation will help determine the appropriate actions to be taken to maintain the integrity of future recruitment exams and prevent similar incidents from occurring.
